Even Wanted Change Can Be Beset With Intimidating Results.
With joy and gratitude I’m formally announcing the launch of my revitalized brand and re tooled website, mariastormsarmstrong.com.
When I set out on this personal and professional reset in July 2024 I anticipated the process taking several months. It was a formidable undertaking, including recruiting and working with a diverse team of web designers and social media marketing creatives to marshal my objectives in a way that captivated the interest of my evolving audience.
My intent? To be of greater service as a life coach.
What has transpired during this endeavor?
Way more than I bargained for!
I had to practice what I preach about instigating and embracing change. In order to manage the brilliant feedback from my team I had to put the rubber to the road to action a fiercely honest self-inventory of tools and skillsets – emotional and practical – which revealed both strengths and opportunities for growth.
Sometimes the learning is like figuring out how to find one’s footing climbing a steep, rocky mountainside while carrying a forty pound backpack of gear and survival equipment. Like when I think my consultant is in left field and totally doesn’t get me and then saves the creative process with an outstanding template suggestion which brings cohesion to the entire project. Other times it is like gleefully sliding across a freshly burnished dance floor while wearing clean socks. My team and I totally get where each of us is coming from, and make headway light years faster than expected.
Intellectually I view change as an “opportunity to re-evaluate, re-tool, and re-invent myself better after than before.”
Emotionally, the energy of change requires navigating the highs and lows of excitement generated from a confident vision mixed with the inherent trepidation of “what-if’s”.
Practically the recent brand evolution and website update requires more than could possibly be planned for investments of my time, tools and treasure to accomplish my end goals. I will apply the gained wisdom for the next iteration!
The process demands housekeeping – starting with personally culling contacts and communiques from my cellphone, email and social media contact managers. What on the surface seems a tedious deletion of contact names inexorably leads to a multiple step heart aching catharsis stemming from deaths and unfriending by people from whom I learned a great deal; all teachers along the journey, to whom, if I am lucky, I have had the chance to say good-bye.
Purging fifteen per cent of my contact list disorients me as I assign their value to the past. I feel an urgency to fill in the gaps, and have to practice pausing to set with the losses. Ultimately I have to accept who was once there is now gone in order to find peace.
Within the newly spacious place I find the emotional and mental room to consider what, if anything, do I do now?
Judiciously select, and add, new contacts who represent budding friendships, client relationships and new beginnings. Once again, because the mass import function on my contact list manager defeats my purpose of being selective, I’m required to make a minimum of five repetitive steps per contact name. With a new found adept utilization of my repurposed social media tools I recommit to offer monthly blog posts, If you are reading this, than so far, it’s a success!
Revitalizing my brand and re tooling my website is now a chapter in my lived experience. I mustered COURAGE to allocate remarkable quantities of time, talent and treasure to my coaching endeavor. It CONNECTED me to my inner sense of self, as well as to the talented people around me who I rely on to interpret and make my vision tangible.
Of course, the creative process entails, if not requires CONFLICT! Inner conflict, conflict of my ideas with my team’s ideas, conflict of tailoring my web presence to the multiple algorithms demanded by a social media platform all, time and schedule management…just to name a few. Thanks to the belief and patience of all involved, CLARITY emerges in the form of what you are now seeing and reading.
The experience of finding meaning and new friendships through successful conflict management is the best! It’s an incredible trust builder, in oneself, others and the process itself.
Distilling COHESION from CHAOS in the form of a brand and website is evidence of the richness available to be mined from the uncertainty of new endeavors. It’s re- assembling of what’s relevant in the current moment.

The most important question that surfaced during my endeavor is “What is the one benefit that is most likely to make someone try or purchase the service I am offering?”
In other words, what is in it for you, dear reader? Answer: An Opportunity to Live The Life You Love.
Enduring hard times becomes meaningful when I know my experience and wisdom may lighten someone else’s load. Furthermore, spreading the joy of good times is just plain COOL!
